Our collaborative approach ensures our clients, supply chain and the needs of our communities in which we operate are all considered, resulting in meaningful outcomes through tailored engagements.

We ensure social value is truly embedded within our business, with each project having a bespoke and considered co-created Social Value Action Plan which is measurable and reportable. Using approved framework measurements such as the National TOMs (Themes, Outcomes and Measures) certifies we can adapt to meet client and community needs.

Underpinning our social value strategy are 4 key areas:

Harnessing Community Support

Supporting communities is fundamental to our business, demonstrated through our support of our chosen charity of the year, Treetops Hospice.

Alongside this, we support individual charities in proximity to our projects along with national charities such as The Lighthouse Construction Charity. Utilising the Match My Project platform to identity community initiatives to support along with reaching out direct to community groups.

Education

We aim to attract the next generation to the industry and inspire them through early engagement from our dedicated team. We promote the diverse roles available and advise on pathways to employment. Engaging with education and training providers, fostering strong relationships for ongoing varied careers support, including:

Responsible Business

Our ‘Think Local’ policy ensures we prioritise engagement with our local supply chain for each project, using industry recognised platform, LSC (Local Supply Chain) to source and identify new and existing partners, with a focus on SME engagement.

Our partners are an extension of our business and work collaboratively with us to deliver Social Value.

Every project we deliver employs local people, confirming our commitment to the communities we work in. Alongside this, we pride ourselves on providing opportunities for the next generation through apprenticeships.

Our passion to create opportunities for growth, development and a long term careers is demonstrated through several of our people across various departments.

Success story: One of our Contracts Managers joined the business as an apprentice nearly 20 years ago, progressing through various roles. They are now part of the senior management team – a testament to our commitment to internal growth and development.

Considerate Contractor
