New family contact centre in Worksop reaches key construction milestone

Construction of a new purpose-built family contact centre in Worksop has reached a significant milestone, with the roof structure now complete.

Delivered by Midlands contractor, G F Tomlinson, the new facility – Harmony House – is being developed for Arc Partnership on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council. Designed, project, and cost managed by Arc Partnership – a joint venture between Nottinghamshire County Council and SCAPE – the facility will provide a modern, fit-for-purpose environment supporting some of the county’s most vulnerable children, young people and families.

Due for completion this summer, the new centre will replace outdated accommodation currently being used. The new centre will help deliver enhanced safeguarding services for families.

The modern, energy-efficient building will provide a safe and welcoming space for supervised family time, alongside conference rooms, kitchen facilities and dedicated areas to support safeguarding and support services.

The single-storey development has been designed and is being constructed to a high standard, with a range of features which reduce energy demand, make the building more economical to run and promote long term sustainability including a high-performance building fabric, photovoltaic panels together with fully electric heating and cooling systems.

The development forms part of Nottinghamshire County Council’s wider investment into modern, cost-efficient public service buildings, ensuring facilities are better suited to the needs of communities across the county.
