THE KEYS to Staffordshire’s new AgriSTEM Academy have been handed over to South Staffordshire College ahead of its official opening.
Contractor G F Tomlinson formally presented the keys last month to mark the completion of the final phase of the development at the Rodbaston Campus near Penkridge.
This phase of the project has seen the complete renovation of the historic Granary buildings, which will house facilities including the academy’s advanced manufacturing production line and cutting edge tractor simulator.
The building, which is the focal point of the new academy and was designed by architects Maber, blends the old and the new, with vaulted ceilings, exposed beams and brickwork meeting work and study spaces that are home to the latest digital technologies.
The project delivery team was joined at last month’s event by key partners and members of the supply chain, all of whom have contributed to the development since it was granted planning permission in 2015.
