Design & Build

This new build scheme will replace the existing sports pavilion on the University of Nottingham site.

The project was run as a design competition to provide improved changing and welfare facilities for University sports students. A key requirement was to also provide a panoramic view of the sports field, which was achieved by installing a viewing balcony at first floor level.

The project involved many Sustainable features including under floor heating, rainwater harvesting, a solar thermal pre-heat system and high efficiency lighting.

Contract Period: 36 weeks

The 2 storey pavilion includes a sports equipment store, training room, tea rooms, a number of changing rooms, a bar, toilet facilities and store room.

The final design was based on the shape of a rugby ball.
