G F Tomlinson were among a number of companies at an event organised by Mid-Derbyshire MP Pauline Latham – and is aimed at helping those looking for work in the area find a new job.
Last year, Belper was hit by the closure of the Courtaulds clothing factory. In May, the firm went into administration and more than 300 workers were made redundant. Mrs Latham said: “I’m very pleased and excited to be hosting the jobs fair this Friday. Some really great companies are involved and anyone looking for work, or a change in position, should come along as they may find it really helpful.
“Both I and my team have put a lot of work into arranging the event and securing the sponsors for the fair, and I would like to say a big thank you to both the companies and my staff for their efforts. Getting people employment is a huge plus for both the individuals involved and the local economy.
