Central Building, University of Nottingham (Castle Meadow Campus)
Refurbishment and renovation of the Grade II Listed former HMRC building. The building features state-of-the-art facilities and provides a social and commercial hub for Nottingham.
KEY ENVIRONMENTAL FEATURE
The original build featured a tensioned fabric roof and aluminium cladding, which was originally proposed to be replaced. The GFT team recognised this would generate excessive waste and high embodied carbon of new cladding. Working with our supply chain they came up with an alternative solution that refurbished the roof and cladding and saved 135tCO2e.
